His Imperial Majesty George W. Bush
by M. Amir Ali
February 5, 2005
Before the independence of India and Pakistan it was said that the sun
never set on the British Empire because British colonies existed all around
the globe. Well, in the 21st century, the sun seldom rises on Britain
because of clouds and pollution over the British Isles and absence of
colonies anywhere else. One can now say about the U.S., that sun never
sets on the American Empire. U.S. already had forces in the Persian (or
Arabian) Gulf Region but Israel was not satisfied, therefore, upon the
dictates of Israel, Emperor Bush decided to set up American bases in Iraq,
too. Emperor Bush gets what he wants; it is a different matter that he
is under the dictates of tiny Israel. It is a common observation that
a wolf barks and an elephant runs for its life, similarly, when Israel
barks, Emperor Bush runs for his life. Israel ordered Bush to stay in
Iraq permanently, therefore his talk of getting or Iraq is fraudulent
and deceptive. Further evidence of this comes from congressional sources;
Congressman from Chicago, Jesse Jackson, Jr. said on the Bruce Dumont
Show that fifteen permanent American bases are under construction, spending
money that was to be used on development projects.
This article is my commentary on Bush’s inaugural address on January
20, 2005; I am using the text published in Chicago Tribune of the next
day, Eid Al-Adha Day for the Muslims. In the following, I have put emphasis
on Bush quotes by adding them in italics and quotation marks.
1. Bush said: “For a half century, America defended our own
freedom by standing watch on distant borders.”
This is a plain lie. America was not threatened by Vietnam, Guatemala,
El Salvador, Korea, Iran, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Panama, Laos, Cambodia,
Somalia, Lebanon, Libya, Angola, Cuba, Dominican Republic and other small
countries where American forces landed or bombed within the last fifty
years. None of these countries was any threat to the U.S. If there was
any threat, it was an American threat of invading the communist countries
during the Cold War period, which the U.S. could not do due to the danger
of starting nuclear war with the Soviet Union. However, there was no threat
of any major war by invading small and weak Third World countries and
the U.S. did invade such militarily weak countries. The lesson is that
the U.S. is a threat to the non-nuclear and weak countries only. Once
a country has developed nuclear bombs and a delivery system, she is safe
from American direct invasion or bombing. This observation over the last
sixty years goes in support of developing nuclear bombs to hold back American
invasions. During the last sixty years American governments successively,
whether Democratic or Republican, have proven to be the bullies of the
world.
2. Bush: “After the shipwreck of communism came years of relative
quiet, years of repose, years of sabbatical, and then there came a day
of fire.”
The U.S. internally may have been in relative peace but the world was
not because U.S. bombs and forces invaded Iraq and continue to bomb to
date. Somalia was invaded; so was Kosovo and Bosnia. American direct interference
has continued. Indirectly, American financed and militarily supported
Israel has continued invading Palestinian towns causing death and destruction,
angering a billion Muslims around the world and another couple of billion
non-Muslims in Europe, Central and South America and Asia. After the fall
of Soviet Union, the balance of power shifted heavily in favor of the
U.S. and there was no other country left to oppose American invasions
in the poor Third World countries.
3. Bush: “…resentment and tyranny – prone to ideologies
that feed hatred and excuse murder…”
Is this an admission of guilt on the part of American Capitalism or an
attack on Islam? History of the last one hundred years has shown that
the American Capitalism resents and tyrannizes any other ideology than
its own, wages war, murders people en mass, destroys properties and countries
and makes every effort to impose Capitalism by hook or crook. Islam is
totally free of any such guilt. The media of the West has launched a campaign
of disinformation, lies and hate against Islam for the last twelve centuries
and continues in this young 21st century of “enlightenment, freedom,
democracy and the nation states.”
4. Bush: “ The survival of liberty in our land increasingly
depends on the success of liberty in other lands.”
Bush has worked hard to pass Patriot Act I (I call it, Slavery Act for
America) that contradicts his pronouncements about liberty. Now, he is
working hard to make this even worse by trying to pass Patriot Act II,
I call it, Advanced Slavery Act. Ask Muslim in cities and towns of America,
how they are being arrested, questioned and jailed, deported without any
charges of criminal activity. Why the charge of immigration violations
against Muslims only? There are eight million Latinos who are being accepted;
if this is not prejudice, hypocrisy and religious bigotry then what is!
I am hearing cases of arrests of Muslim citizens and jailing without charge;
I know at least one such innocent Muslim citizen of the U.S. who was arrested,
jailed but released after a few days without any charges. This is pure
and simple harassment and affects their employment and families severely.
5. Bush: “From the day of our founding, we have proclaimed
that every man and woman on this earth has rights and dignity, and matchless
value, because…”
If what he said it true then why has he given unlimited powers to his
puppets like Hosni Mubarak, Pervez Musharraf, Moroccan, Libyan, Tunisian,
Algerian and Yemeni dictators to arrest and jail people without charges,
deny bail, torture them, even kill their own citizens? Where are their
rights, dignity and matchless value? Even worse, he is arresting Muslims
and handing over them to the puppet rulers for torturing, jailing and
killing. In addition, in the U.S., there is de facto slavery of the “illegal
immigrants” who are living as slaves on farms and working as factory
laborers at less than subsistence rations without any rights. If rights,
dignity and matchless values are recognized, then why a Guantanamo Bay
X-ray Camp enemy combatants exist at all? In Islam the concepts of “nationalism
and patriotism” do not exist and these are considered to be pagan
concepts. In a true Islamic system there will be no aliens or illegal
immigrants. Unfortunately, in our time there is not a single “Islamic”
country in the world, all Muslim majority countries have adopted European
paganism of nationalism and patriotism.
6. Bush: “… because they (people) bear the image of the
maker of heaven and earth.”
Islam rejects the notion that man was created in the image of God. This
may be a pagan concept and such notion is offensive to Muslims. God is
not like any one or anything known to man.
7. Bush: “Across the generations, we have proclaimed the imperative
of self-government, because no one fit to be a master, and no one deserves
to be a slave.”
One professor on National Public Radio said that when Bush says ‘white’
read it black, and when he says ‘black’, read it white, meaning
that he says one thing but he meant to be its opposite. On the same line
he is saying that his goal is not self-government and he would not allow
some people to be free but everyone should be slave of someone as he is
a slave of the Israelis and Christian Zionists. He wants Muslims to be
the direct slaves of the Americans, thereby, slaves of the slaves. The
Iraq war is supposed to achieve the goal of enslaving all Arabs.
8. Bush: “It is the honorable achievement of our fathers.”
He means that freedom of the people is honorable achievement. But, Bush
is busy in reversing honorable achievement of the fathers. His Patriot
Acts are enslaving American people and his wars are attempting to enslave
the Muslim world in service to the Israeli and American exploitation.
9. Bush: “This is not primarily the task of arms, though we
will defend ourselves and our friends by force of arms when necessary.”
His saying in plural “friends” is fraudulent- he actually
meant Israel. Other Arab rulers in the area are not friends but clients
and puppets to be protected for American-Israeli interests only. These
Arab rulers have to be protected even if they are worse than Saddam as
tyrants and persecutors of their own people. Saddam was an acceptable
bad guy for the Americans as long as he did not give money to the Palestinian
suicide bombers, which was taking Israeli lives. Israel has been killing
Palestinians three to ten times faster rate than the Palestinians killing
Israelis – it did not count with the American media and the government.
Israelis are seen as people and Palestinians are seen as insects bred
to be killed. This is the value of human life in the eyes of Bush. The
question is how Iraq or Afghanistan planned to attack the U.S. for the
U.S. to kill over 130,000 people in those two countries rendering hundreds
of thousands homeless. Is this not a holocaust or American created tsunami
disaster?
10. Bush: “And when the soul of a nation finally speaks, the
institutions that arise may reflect customs and traditions very different
from our own.”
He did not complete the sentence; let me complete it for him: “…
provided these customs and traditions remain obedient to the American
wishes, agree to live under American occupation and will not interfere
with American exploitation of natural resources, also accepting Israeli
hegemony over them”. One more thing: “… all contracts
for rebuilding development of the country must be awarded to the American
companies without requiring worldwide competitive bidding. Besides, all
development projects must be submitted to Israel for approval.”
11. Bush: “America will not impose our own style of government
on the unwilling. Our goal instead is to help others find their own voice,
attain their own freedom and make their own way.”
Again he forgot something to say and let me complete it for him. “…
Our only condition is that any system established should not be called
‘Islamic’ but if you must, it should not be derived from the
Qur’an and Sunnah but from American constitution, and if it is still
called Islamic, the U.S. will not object to the use of that dirty word.”
The world should know that the U.S. is not opposed to the dirty word “Islamic”
by Iran and Sudan but the real problem is the source of their constitution
and their laws, they claim that their source is the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The U.S. cannot tolerate even such claims and these countries’ development
must be sabotaged by any means possible. The U.S. will do anything possible
to stunt their growth and uniting the nation behind one government and
access to the new found oil reserves in southern Sudan. The U.S. sent
an American marine as a “Sudanese” to lead a Christian led
rebellion to break the country; it is too bad that it failed. Now the
U.S. is trying to break away Darfur because they found uranium ore, which
must not fall in the hands of Sudanese government. The U.S. successfully
launched a covert campaign to break Pakistan into two, creating poverty
stricken Bangladesh. Ever since the U.S. governments have been working
hard to break remaining Pakistan into four more pieces because the goal
is that no Muslim country should be large enough to become a power to
reckon with.
12. Bush: “America’s influence is considerable, and we
will use it confidently in freedom cause.”
He is again trying to dis-inform American people because they are very
gullible, but the world, particularly, the Muslim world knows the truth.
Bush means by the phrase, “freedom cause”, subduing weak countries
or enslaving weak people; if not by military force, the U.S. will use
money to bribe corrupt tyrants to enslave the country. If these leaders
are not corrupt enough for taking money or if the country is rich enough
and they have enough looted wealth, the U.S. provides them life-long guarantee
of power by providing them with security and corrupt people around them
who protect them.
13. Bush: “America will not pretend that jailed dissidents
prefer their chains, or that women welcome humiliation and servitude,
or that any human being aspires to live at the mercy of bullies.”
Again Bush did not complete his sentence, let me do it for him: “…except
when dissidents are truly Muslims and fighting for freedom rather than
in support of tyranny of the American puppets…we will happily let
them rot in the prisons and we will provide our puppets training in innovative
methods and new technology and ideas of torture. We have set examples
at Camp X-Ray at Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, Afghanistan, Iraq and in
the U.S. by declaring them ‘enemy combatant’ – let them
rot for the rest of their lives without allowing them to see their loved
ones or lawyers, even if they have not committed any crime – so
what, we are the Super Power and we have our way always.” Regarding
women Bush mean to say: “… we do not like chastity because
it is servitude and humiliation of women. We want women to have two full-time
jobs, one for earning money and giving money to their husbands, and the
other full-time job at home and family care so that men have freedom to
relax after work, watch TV, play on computer, go out with other women,
enjoy sex outside and have time to play with friends…It is even
better if women have multiple sex partners within or without marriage,
they show off their naked bodies for the pleasure of men because this
is their freedom. Let there be incest because this is the ultimate expression
of freedom from moral values imposed by Islam. Look we allow our men to
beat our women, abuse them, torture them, even kill them, which is our
freedom. Islam imposes seventh century morality, which should be thrown
out the way we have thrown out the window ancient moral values given in
the Bible. We want to see in the Muslim countries as many single mothers
with many children, each born out wedlock from a different biological
father; this is real freedom of women as we have set example in the U.S.
for the world to emulate.” America does not like 7th Century morals
of chastity.
14. Bush: “In the long run, there is no justice without freedom,
and there can be no human rights without human liberty.”
Bush left out his definition of freedom and liberty. He forgot to say
that America defines the terms freedom and liberty. If America tells a
prisoner, he is a free man, he is a free man because he does not need
to work for food or clothing or a place to live and he has security of
free bodyguards. Similarly, American puppets should be free to exploit
their own people, imprison, torture and kill dissidents because this is
American defined justice. Look, how American puppets from Pakistan to
Morocco have freedom; as long as they remain our puppets they must have
their freedom to keep the country and its populace under control and subservient
to America and American corporations and Israel. American puppet rulers
must have their human rights to loot the country, build palaces around
the world and have fun for themselves, their families and their supporters.
15. Bush: “We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny
because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. Liberty
will come to those who love it.”
Again he did not complete his sentences. Let me complete them for him:
“… unless it is our tyranny and by our puppets; we will not
accept even freedom enjoyed by our opponents because we will change the
definition and we will call it tyranny and we will invade the country,
change the rulers and appoint our employees and call them elected rulers.
If their people do not elect them, we will bribe them, threaten them,
fool them, deceive them; I have already set the examples by getting myself
elected for the second term. I only wish to abrogate the constitution
and declare myself elected President-for-Life. Freedom, liberty, tyranny
and slavery are just words and we retain our freedom to define these words
the way we like to, we will not accept the tyranny of anybody else defining
these terms for us …”
16. Bush: “All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know:
The United States will not ignore your oppression or excuse your oppressors.
When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.”
Well, I have to fill in the gaps again: “…unless your oppressors
are our puppets like Musharraf, Hosni Mubarak, rulers of Arabian Gulf
States, Yemen, and Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco and our Master Israel;
their populations must think positive and consider that they are free
and their rulers are good people, if not, we will declare you insurgents,
terrorists, Muslim Fundamentalists, Wahabis and Muslim extremists and
we will kill you all. The world should know that we are the Super Power
and we are powerful enough and free to change definitions; what you may
think to be tyranny but we call it freedom, that is what we say. If you
are not with us, you are against us.”
17. Bush: “Democratic reformers facing repression, prison or
exile can know: America sees you for who you are- the future leaders of
your free country.”
What does Bush mean, democratic reformers? Those treacherous people, who
have sold themselves to America, receive American taxpayer’s money
via CIA for themselves, their families and select supporters, and a security
apparatus for protection. In Bush language, a free country means to be
a puppet of America, not just puppets of any of the European countries
because Europe is independent of American policies thereby they are becoming
bad guys, too.
18. Bush: “The leaders of governments with long habits of control
need to know: To serve your people you must learn to trust them.”
Who is he talking about? Who are these leaders of governments? Is he serious?
I see this as another deception for the masses, telling them the U.S.
is going to do some moderation of the puppets. When Hosni Mubarak was
told to hold honest elections, reportedly he shot back and asked if Bush
wanted Islamic Fundamentalists to come in power? Bush said, no! Hosni
Mubarak responded to let him rule the way he wants to and the U.S. should
not interfere as long he delivers a nation at the feet of the U.S. Bush
had no choice but to shut up.
19. Bush: “And all the allies of the United States can know:
We honor your friendship, we rely on your counsel and we depend on your
help. Division among free nations is a primary goal of freedom’s
enemies. The concerted effort of free nations to promote democracy is
a prelude to our enemies defeat.”
This is a fatherly advice to his children. This is an insult to the injury
after his threat in the U.N. Security Council, that, if he did not receive
support for war in Iraq, the council would become irrelevant – declaring
that other members were fools not supporting him. The time has shown that
all members of the Security Council are wise and he is the fool who went
ahead with the war all alone. Bush has been isolated from the community
of world powers and he keeps bringing a few tyrant rulers who stood with
him. None of his supporting powers have any world standing except that
they jumped in the arena with a token force and collected large sums of
money from American taxpayers. He lied again by saying that he honor their
friendship, which he did not and still does not; he claims to rely on
their counsel, which he rejected and continues to reject. He hypocritically
says that he depends upon their help, which he did not receive nor is
there any chance that he would receive any time soon. Now, he is threatening
that if they did not work with him, it would make his enemies happy. The
matter of fact is that European wisdom has made many friends among the
people of their former colonies while Bush and Tony Blair continue to
make more and more enemies due to their lack of brains.
20. Bush: “By our efforts, we have lit a fire as well as a
fire in the minds of men.”
He has spoken the truth; I wonder whether it is Bush or his speechwriter
who spoke the truth. He has certainly lit a fire of hate, which is spreading
fast and he continues to lose friends who are turning into Bush haters.
My fear is that it might make good people into America haters because
it is America’s 59 million naïve and gullible people who elected
him again. The world wonders as Daily Mirror of London asked the question,
how can 59 million people were so dumb!
21. Bush: “A few Americans have accepted the hardest duties
in this cause in the quiet work of intelligence and diplomacy, the idealistic
work of helping raise up free governments, the dangerous and necessary
work of fighting our enemies.”
This is clearly admission of espionage work and subversion of a country
controlled by a strong and murderous dictator like Saddam. It was not
easy to buy up the support and loyalty of Saddam’s closest confidants
– at least 87 such people (Iraqi generals and high officials under
Saddam) who put their own lives in danger in supporting the Americans
but they did for their own benefit. Bush is genuinely proud of such a
covert operation. This admission is also a warning to other dictators
in the region that the loyalties of their confidant lieutenants is not
reliable because America can offer bigger money, immigration to the West
and anonymity under the witness protection program for a lifelong, worry
free and pleasurable time for themselves and their progeny.
22. Bush: “To give every American a stake in the promise and
future of our country, we will bring the highest standards to our schools
and build our ownership society…(more promises).”
If the last four years is the precedence, this is the record of increasing
poverty, more unemployment, more industry and jobs moving offshore, increasing
deficits, a vastly expanded Federal budget, increased spying on people,
higher rate of arrests and imprisonment without any charges or right of
legal representation, more and more Homeland Security orange and yellow
alerts (all bogus, so far), increased scare tactics, etc. As one political
analyst put it, there is “scare fatigue” in the society and
such alerts are not having any effect. I am seeing higher number of beggars
in the streets of Chicago, many younger people at the road crossings begging
at the risk to their lives. There is increase in homelessness, decrease
in Medicaid drug benefits, decrease in income criteria before Medicaid
would kick in, disqualifying many more low-income people from Medicaid.
A lot more people are living with fewer prescription drugs because they
cannot afford to buy high priced drugs, which are affecting their health
adversely. If this is the record of the last four years, may God help
American people – there is no other possibility but a gradual downward
trend leading to total destruction of the country under Bush.
23. Bush: “America, in this young century, proclaims liberty
throughout all the world and to all the inhabitants thereof.”
His words and deeds do not match. Why did he invade Iraq and Afghanistan
without any provocation? Taliban, a poor country without any standing
armed force, no air force, landlocked country that could not have any
navy, was no threat to the U.S., a Super Power almost 10,000 miles away.
Iraq was likewise not a threat to the U.S. The U.N. inspectors after spending
six months said that no WMD was found and there were no plans either.
American forces all around the globe is not the indication that the U.S.
government has peaceful intentions but to keep the world under the threat
of total occupation or obedience to the U.S. wishes. These actions do
not represent a proclamation of liberty but a proclamation of threat of
total enslavement.
